Why not talk about the main ladies. The milk in the shed is only from our farm.

Unlike door sales men who come round trying to sell you 'local' milk. it could be pasteurised closely but the milk could be coming from anywhere in the uk.
Our girls are a cross between jersey cows and a new zealand friesian. They are quite small cows which means they produce less milk than other breeds. This means they produce creamer milk and they do not often go lame when walking out to the fields.
They graize in the fields from February until Novemeber depending on the weather.
The ladies have a variety of different grasses and plants to eat in the fields. It is never boring for them.
They are moved onto a new patch of grass twice a day. Each field is measured every week by Chris. He then calculates how many feeds are in each ones and decides where the cows will go next.
Why not meet three of them.
Judy Penny Jas
Judy is number 4 so her name is four letters long. She is super friendly and loves being centre of attention.Â
Penny, lucky penny had a c section during the calving period. She is doing fabulously.Â
Jas, she is the daughter of my favourite cow (J). J used to let Bryn sit on her back when he was a baby. She let Hamish lick her face and she would always find me for a cuddle and tickle. I am hoping me and Jas can have a similar friendship.Â
