Cottage Pie with cheesy mash

How to make really tasty dinner with minimal effort. I mean that draws me in straight away.



What you need -


For the meat filling -


mince 1kg

1 tin of chopped tomatoes/500ml of passata

1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

Tube of tomato puree

Worcester sauce a good splash.


For the topping


potatoes x 6

cheese

milk a good splash


First of all I put all the meat filling ingredients into the slow cooker in the morning so then I don't need to worry about finding the time to cook.


Once that was done I boil the potatoes. When soft, empty out the water from the saucepan and then add milk and cheese. Keep your pan over the hob and mashed up the potatoes.


I used two different trays, one for us and one for the kids.


Added the beef at the bottom then the mash over the top.



Then add a good sprinkle of cheese and some pepper. Then pop her in the over until bubbling which for me was about 40 minutes.





Serve up with some veggies on the side. A perfect filling family meal for everyone to enjoy.
